Howdy from Vancouver BC

Hey all,

Just thought I'd quickly introduce myself and thank the site creators for such an informative site. My name is Scott and I'm currently located in Vancouver BC. On Aug 21 I'm leaving here in my '73 VW HiTop and driving through the U.S. to Burning Man, then over to the coast and down to L.A. where I want to purchase a surfboard. Hence my membership here.

I am going to be shooting travel docs throughout Latin America on each country that I travel through so with Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica along the way I though a surf board would be some good fun for off days. I used to skateboard in the late 70's and learned and copied a lot of moves from Skateboarder magazine so I'm kind of sentimental about buying a surf board in L.A. as the closest thing I've done to surfing started there.

I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time here reading your posts and have already done so, having learned more about surfing in one afternoon than I ever have in the past. Thanks to the creators of this site and to those who have responded with their experience in the posts.

Once this trip starts to roll I'll post lots of photos of beaches along the way. Here are a few from my last trip when I stayed at Stoners Surf Camp in Mexico, San Blas.

Thanks. I guess there's not much for surfing pics there although the last one has a hint of a surfboard in it. I'll be sure to post lots of photos of different surf spots along the coasts though and will probably setup a surfing section on my website with pics and info.
