I'm going out on Thursday at hunting Island to surf a nice swell is to come in so its my chance to try out my wet suit.

Anyway my dad says 61 degree water is too cold to be out in the water even with a wetsuit but I cant explain to him that the wetsuir is for that tempature. can anyone tell me if this is an ok tempature?

The water at folly was in the low 50s and I was fine with only wetsuit and booties. Throw in gloves and youre good to go into the 40s.

do you guys think of hawaii as overseas? i dont think of the mainland as overseas, infact in my head the east coast is closer than japan, when its actually a couple more thousand moles away.

I went out to the beach to try out my wetsuit and I went out around 2pm and it was low tide but around 4pm it turned fun. It was a angeled swell whitch really compicated things but it was waist high at some points and I got some good rides. I hope to go out again soon when the next huge swell hits. Plus my suit worked out really well. :D

I'm landlocked, but my brother was on a trip down to florida to check out some schools, and his girlfriend was planning on surfing and it was dead flat yesterday, that was at cocoa. has SC been getting any surf? It seems that the summer windswells were better than this flatnesss...

good to hear that the suit worked out well, last year I went in mid to upper 50s in a 2:1 springsuit-wasn't so great....but this year, full 4:3, and I still haven't had it in water colder than upper 60s. damn land......

sorry for the ramblin'
