Hi. I have a RipCurl digital watch that I am very happy with; it has tide settings and moon phases, date, time, etc. The glass is apparently very scratch resistant as I have knocked it around a lot and it still looks clean. Also it's very comfortable.

Nixons are flying off the shelves (my own personal take on surf watches sold on this site - blatant nixon advertising
Ripcurl do a good range of tide watches IMHO.
My advice, get one watch for out of the water - your choice - and another watch for in the water (if you need to tell the time while surfing). Make the in the water watch the cheapest waterproof digital you can find.
