You can try...
www.bournemouth-surfing.co.uk/
...but they're a bit erratic with their forecasts

Seriously - if you're going to surf the south coast, you need to learn how to forecast, otherwise you'll waste a lot of trips :?
The south coast is just too fickle to plan a trip around a forecast generated by a computer (magic seaweed) or by someone who lives miles away (soul surfer, although he's not bad).

As for what's going to happen this weekend on the south coast - its looking like theres going to be a fair old swell about, but the wind's going to be strong onshore, maybe going cross-shore later on.

Probably not worth making a long trip for, but if you can find some shelter then it might be worth a go :D

Here we go then... this is what we've got for late friday/early saturday.

Fairly big low pressure sitting to the south west of the UK, which will send waves towards the south coast of the UK :D

BUT... by the time its developed its very close to the UK, which doesnt give the waves any time to clean up

And those closely packed isobars mean wind - and the wind will travel in an anti-clockwise direction round the centre of the low pressure. So the winds will be direct onshore, and quite strong

Later on, when that low has moved north-east a bit, the winds will switch to cross-shore, and eventually might even go offshore for bournemouth... but by then the waves will have faded :?

So... If you can find shelter (not a lot of that at bournemouth) or time it prefectly, there might be a nice wave :D

...But probably blown out mush

Now, everyone, watch as there is glassy clean waist high conditions all weekend long...

cheers guys..... I'm not too big at the forecasting thing, although i know i should.... so far i've only been following the wind forecast cause i'm windsurfer first, surfer second, but I reckon I'll start paying more attention to the swell forecast if I don't want to waste the hour's trip to Bournemouth!

http://www.swell-forecast.comhas tutorials, as does magicseaweed, before you know it you'll be predicting with the best of them!!

If you search for Sorted Boardriders on yell.com/ google and give Sean a ring, he'll tell you what the conditions are like for Boscombe and probably some of the other places around there too!

http://www.a1surf.comhas webcams from all around the UK including the S. coast -so it's always worth a check!

Cheers
