There are very likely youtubes showing you how to do it but while glassing is important shaping is more important. It seems to me that epoxy is lighter but stronger and you can add more glass to make it heavier which will make it even stronger. I haven't made a board using epoxy but the resin mixing is pretty straightforward, just make sure you measure it and follow instructions. Polyester resin requires that you use a PU polyurethane blank but epoxy allows you to use an EPS or expanded polystyrene which can be lighter than PU or you can use PU with epoxy resin. First board? I hope that someone else here can help you as I have only made a polyester resin polyurethane board. I can tell you problems making a board include not having enough resin to cover the fiberglass or wasting it by squeegeeing it onto the floor or leaving too much resin with the glass which will make it brittle or having bugs land on the glass before it hardens or adding too much or too little catalyst if making a polyester resin board or using the wrong amounts of the two parts of epoxy resin. Also for longevity epoxy is the resin to use. Wait a little while for answers from someone else. Hopefully someone else can chime in but most surfers don't make their own boards
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
