My friend first time surfing.

Postby BaNZ » Fri Jul 19, 2019 7:18 pm

He caught more waves than I did in my first year summer waves.

He was catching those unbroken waves and not white wash. His stance is right and he followed the simplysurf videos which I sent. I did not push him and he made it look really easy. I know it's just 1-2 feet summer waves but I was impressed. I thought most people would only catch 1 or 2 green waves during their first few session. He must have caught at least 10+ green waves in the first session.

Whereas my other friend whom I taught personally is still unable to catch any waves since last summer.

I think I know the problem is me!

Both of them is black diamond snowboarder.

However the better surfer is more humble, he took my advice of learning from at least a 8'0 or longer. He said he is just out there to have fun and no pressure. Very open minded. Whereas the other one straight away decided he wants to surf a 7'6 or a smaller fish. Tries really hard to go for unbroken waves but he really should be surfing white wash. Both of them are very well built.

The better surfer is asking if he should get a 8'0 Torq thruster or 8'6 2+1 setup. I really don't know the answer to that. After seeing his performance, I say he should get the 8'0 because that's what he was riding and he made it look so easy.
