Help

Postby Bre1204 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 10:33 pm

So, I'm from the southern states which means I don't get to surf much, but it's always been a dream of mine to surf. I recently bought a 6ft soft board from eBay and I was wondering if I made a good deal? I'm 5'7 and I weigh close to 200lbs. I spent $75, did I waste money?

Oh! Why Oh why do people buy boards first and then ask questions?
You are about 3ft short of the mark, not you, the length of the board !
Have you ever actually surfed?
Depending on which southern state if it has a coast then there is potential for surf, even the Gulf States do it occasionally.

Nope. Take the fins off and use it to practice popups. Do fifty popups on it 3 times a week. Work on getting your feet planted where they need to be and smoothing out your popup technique. Add three feet to your height and buy a board with that length. Good luck.

Don't they have Costco member warehouses down South ? Should've paid a bit more and got a 8'0" Wavestorm. ( and actually still not enough to learn on, but better than on a 6'0" )
Did the $75 include shipping ? Or was shipping extra ?

Well, that's a good size for an average sized 8-10 years old. As a body board it should be fine. Ride it as a twin-fin (the center fin taken out) and it would probably be pretty fun.

8' Wavestorm at Costco is the best deal going. 9' wavestorm is even better at your body size if you can find one.
