700 hours....

Postby Big H » Mon Oct 10, 2016 9:50 am

I have an app I use on my phone that I record details of my sessions like what break, swell, tide, wind at the time I went, how long, what board and a couple other things....been using it since I started. Today's session put me over the 700 hour mark.....according to Malcolm Gladwell, I'm 9,300 hours shy of being an expert......... Good times!

When I first surfed I figure maybe 1000 hours a year. This time around I will hit 700 hours some time in 2025......
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Interesting. What else have you learned from the app?

700 hours in what, 1-2 years? Pretty impressive for a working adult with a family. Way to go!

That is pretty impressive! Roughly 2-300 surfs in a couple of years works out to be about every 2-3rd day!

Super jealous, my average has gone way down!

Been a little more than 2 years....the first six months or so it was a slow burn and I'd go once, maybe twice a week....then started to pick up to my current pace of about 5-6 times a week. Good times!
