Need new wetsuit, Northern California

Needing to replace my 10-year-old wetsuit. Probably needed to about 7 yrs ago, but only started going out more than twice a year last summer. Now more or less 3 or 4 times a month. A 3/4mm has done me fine through this El Niño winter.

Would like to hear recommendations, horror stories.

Wow, I wear a 3/2 during summer in Socal and yet it was too cold. From what I can see. I've tried Oneill, xcel, billabong and mystic. So far I think Oneill has the best quality.

The best wetsuit is the one that fits the best.

Everyone has a story about a wetsuit that has lasted 5 years or one that broke within 3 months, from all different brands. If you go with the major brands, you can generally expect reasonable quality so they are safer; but you are paying a bit of a premium. There are some smaller local brands around the world that do some pretty good wetsuits and some very high end custom places as well.

Find a suit that fits and then buy last year's model.
