surfing reunion is ti possible? pls help :P

hey guys,
i am currently in St leu reunion but i cant find an exact answer if there is anywhere possible to surf in reunion beacuse of the shark situation. If anyone knows tell me if its possible and then where or if it isnt possible.

I think the surfing is limited to inside the lagoon which is not very good unless you are SUP or Kite surfing. I keep hearing that they will do something for the shark problem and reopen but haven't heard anything lately. I bet however the local surfers are still surfing because one got bit a couple months ago.

Thanks guess I will have to find some locals because so far I havent seen any surfers and I will just hope that they will speak english

Reunion Island is located east of Madagascar, in the Indian Ocean, and as Grind TV notes, its coastline is considered one of the deadliest in the world, due to an abundance of large sharks that frequent the waters surrounding the island. Since 2011, there have been 14 shark attacks on Reunion Island. Six of those incidents proved to be fatal, double the number of lethal shark attacks that occurred worldwide last year.

A local council, the Reunion Shark Risk Reduction Committee, has worked together with the Reunion Prefect and the Region President to advance a plan whereby local surfers would be allowed back in the water, volunteering themselves as guinea pigs in experiments to see which methods will prove effective in managing the sharks.
