Looking for Surf Van Ideas

Postby SurfVanMan » Fri Jul 11, 2014 3:58 pm

Hi everyone, I am a surfer/windsurfer and I work for a company that builds custom vans on the RAM ProMaster chassis. Currently, we are only building luxury "conversion vans" and handicap accessible vans, but I am trying to get my boss to build a van specifically designed for surfing. He is not a surfer and does not realize that there is a demand for this type of van.

I created a page on our website where you can tell us what kind of van you want built and what equipment you would include. My goal is to get surfers everywhere to fill out this form and convince my boss that we NEED to build this van! So follow the link below and lets make this happen. If he sees the demand, he will build the van!

link removed, follow Billies advice

I know this is a UK site and I am in the US, but I am looking for all the surfer support I can get.

Hallo surfvanman,
you may have noble aspirations and may receive the direct input requested. This forum has had some really good dialogues about surfing vans. There are many photos in some of these dialogues. Some of the vans were/are owned by surfers engaged in this forum. Other vans discussed are things many of us have seen and/or are interested in. You could pick up a lot of knowledge searching out these discussions in this forum. Give it a whirl. You will not be disappointed.

Most surfers vans are rusty old POS with a single bed in, maybe a gas stove and a p4ss pot. Oh and a number of waxy messy surfboards and damp moldy wetsuits (her ein the uk anyway) Oh and stinking wetsuit boots. I am sure your boss will like to make one of these.

This is what my Van looks like and it's perfect!
02.jpg

Speakers for Tunes, cupboards for stuff (including gas bottle for 2 ring hob)

03.jpg

Bar-b-q, chairs and windbreak all fold away and fit under the Rock 'n' roll bed as does...

04.jpg

...the inflatable kayak!!

05.jpg

Boards go on the roof.

And no surf van would be complete without...
06.jpg

a 'lay' hanging from the rearview mirror.

(For those that care it's a 2001 VW T4 Transporter)

Thanks some I did myself.
I bought it as a 'day van' so it had the bed and cupboards. I added the electric hookup and leisure battery, redid the ceiling and installed 12v LED lights, I put in the fridge and the roof rails for the roof rack.
