used surfboard help, urgent!!

Im thinking of buying a used surfboard and im a beginner so I dont know a lot about boards. The board looks wrinkled but the owner told me its normal in used boards but I dont know. Can anyone help me with this. What do you think of the board?

Well, the board itself looks in ok condition for a cheap second hand board

BUT it totally doesnt look like a beginners board

What are its dimensions (height, width, thickness)

And what are your dimensions (height, weight, age)

I only know the height for the board which is 6'4. Im going to see it tomorrow but the owner told me he started riding in that board. Im 17, 5'6 and weight 160.
But is the surface is allright, it looks weird? looks likes its wrinkled

There are lots of pressure dings in the surface of the board. This is what happens to high performance boards with use. They are less durable (and lighter) than boards made to last. I used to get my shaper to put a third layer of glass on the deck of my boards so I didn't get a huge dent where I placed my rear foot immediately. It would still happen although slower with the extra glass. High performance boards aren't meant to last but the pressure dings are normal wear and not harmful as long as the resin and glass is intact. Usually the foam will discolor where water gets in and the glass may pop up like a bubble although to tell the truth I am not familiar with modern foam.

As someone previously stated, those are pressure dings. They do no harm. But, when dinged that badly, heavy surfing may break through to the foam. That probably won't happen to you because, as a beginner, you cannot surf that hard. In fact, you really need a longboard. I'd suggeat 9 feet. Surfing is more difficult than most people think. With the used board you posted, you will have a very difficult time catching waves. You run the risk of becoming so frustrated, you quit trying to learn to surf. Get a longboard and you will have more fun, more fun much more soon than with a shortboard, and stand a chance of doing it long enough to actually learn to surf.

How old was the seller when he started? Might be ok if he was 12 but a 12 year old is much smaller than you are!

If you look around on this forum for 'beginner boards' you will see why everyone will recommend a longer board. You will also see how hard it is to start on a shortboard and how committed you need to be to learn to surf on it. You may not even catch a wave on that board for several months (you might, but 95% of people wont).

In terms of the board, remember that they are made out of PU foam, covered in fibreglass (like a more solid version of polystyrene boxes!). The inside of the board itself is not hard, you can put your finger into it if you push hard enough. If the glassing is light, it means that it the glass will bend as feet land on it, or knees, and then that dents the foam underneath (pressure dings). So as others have said, totally normal for a board like this. Probably a few more years of heavy surfing and the board will start falling apart, but thats how they are made. As Oldamn says, putting more fibreglass on them makes them much less susceptible to damage, but heavier.

I wouldnt buy that board at your level, unless its really cheap and you just wanted to convince yourself that you are different to every other learn...

Listen to everyone else. Stop worrying about this board. DO NOT BUY IT
Go and get yourself either longboard (9') or a Mini-mal (7'6" - 8') so you can actually stand a chance of learning to surf, then (assuming you are near to a beach and will be surfing a few times a week) in a year or so then you can start to move down in size if that's what you want.
