What's the furthest distance you've surfed?

Postby Jillypoo » Sat Jun 11, 2005 4:05 pm

Hi!
I have a school project due in, and I need to a data analysis on surfing.
Basically I am going to do a graph on the furthest distance people have surfed, and where.
So if possible, please could you tell me where you have surfed and what distance you surfed there? If you don't know exactly...roughly if fine!
Thankyou!

Wouldn't the Severn Bore be one of the longest?

I am going to the beach on nearly every wave, maybe 300 yards but occasionally 500 yards, at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, a normal beach break.

The Severn Bore does hold the record for the longest standing surf ride ever and it stands at 5.7 Miles!!

Longest ride I've had was at Sennen Cove and was about 100- 150 yards.

It's really difficult to estimate though!

Cheers

I saw a video of some tank surfing and one of the rides lasted 15 minutes.

Wow. where was that?

At 10 mph that would be 2.5 miles, and at 20 mph it would be 5 miles!

A smal gps unit is the go for measuring speed and distance.
