All new surf breaks!

Postby billie_morini » Wed Nov 06, 2013 8:47 pm

This is pretty cool. Illogical scientists produced a series of fiction-based world maps. The maps show which portions of present land masses would be underwater is all ice melted. The newspaper showing the maps asks, "Would your home be underwater?" A better way to think about this on our forum is to ask, "Where will the new surf breaks be?" Click link below.

   (obviously in a catastrophic doom-laden kind of way)

Australia looks like it might improve - it'd be nice to get some more beaches in the dry centre

Looks like the London surf scene may improve too 8)

If that link doesn't show your neck of the woods, or if you'd rather not drive up the daily mail's web traffic, the national geographic link is:

If the ocean rose 216 feet then it would be a short walk to ocean from where I live.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

The good thing would be all the undiscovered, empty waves. Some of the best, most inaccessable waves around are now busy. With the seawater rise they would have to be found all over again.
