Writing a song for surfers, on the Bonsai Pipeline

I am trying to write a song on the Bonsai Pipeline in Hawaii. Wanting song to be surfing related, but I don't know jack about surfing, seeing how I am from the eastcoast and live in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Any suggestions, comments, or inspirations would be helpful. What do surfers listen to? What are thier inspirations and goals? Etc. etc....

why do you want to write a song about surfing when you don't even surf? when you write songs they shuld be about your passions, nto someone else's. or its not gonna be any good. its why pop songs are normally crap, cos all the lyrics are aimed to be what people 'want to hear' not from the heart.
