Surfing and cast

Postby Papathrows » Mon Jun 24, 2013 2:16 pm

Say that you have a broken arm, yet you still want to catch a wave... What's your approach, surf and get it wet, or miss a few months of surfing?

im a beginner and i can tell you that its not possible u need both arms as a pivot to stand up. However if you got a cast bag ( to keep it dry ) u could get ur mate to push u into some white water laying down
Its just you and the heart beat of the earth, that moment when u take the drop nothing else matters your mind is completely free of all material thought processes. Your human.

Yeah, there are plenty of videos on her around you could try to copy. Although I guess she isnt carrying and has to deal with the 'weight' of the arm.

If your cast is waterproof, obviously, and you are able to weight bear on the arm, then why not.

Recommend healing as opposed to surfing! Take the time to get it right first! :D

Hi Papathrows, welcome to Surfing Waves!

Sit it out for a few weeks and let the arm heal.

Appreciate all the replies, I was going to develop a product for this situation. Was hoping to get feedback from diehards who would actually surf with a cast.
