HELLO! PLEASE HELP :)

Postby wendoricho » Tue Oct 19, 2010 12:36 pm

Hey i am totally new to surfing apart from the few lessons i had when i was at high school. I just bought myself a board. Its 6 foot. I am 5'6 and about 65-70 kgs. I know this isnt the perfect board to learn on but do u think i have a chance? i mean am i totally pushing my luck or should i be right and be able to still stand on it. I have no idea. :?
I going to take it out tomorrow and i know i will get frustrated! what should i do?
and do u have any tips?

also do u its ok for me to go out in the surf on my own as i have nobody else to surf with. Even if my mate watches from the beach?
these may seem like silly questions ha!

cheers :) :woot:

Well, if you want to stick to that board it will be a lot harder and take longer to get your surfing together. Why didn't you think about it before buying that thing? You can eventually manage since you're not too heavy, depending on your will power and fitness.

However, 6' is not all you can tell about the board, the volume depends on the shape and other dimensions as well.

Tip: really focus on your paddling. From my point of view its the be all and end all of surfing.
