board question

hey im gona get into surfing and getting a surfboard for my bday so im looking around for a good board ive been looking around and so far this is what ive found

what do u think about it as my first board also if theres a board that you think would be better for me let me know, my price range is up to $300. im 5'10 150 lbs. also lease let me know anything i should know about surfing because i know nothing

Thats a 'softboard' - ie has got a foam deck, like a bodyboard. They're only any good for the first couple of times out. So just hire one of those for a day or two.

Then get a proper board - you're about right with shape and dimensions, but dont get a soft one.

Mini-mal, a pop-out will be fine, 7'10 ish.
