What do you all think of this board?

it's surftech Tuflite, 7'6"

i'm 6ft 180 lbs, i'm a semi beginner who's only ridden a 8.5 ft foam board for a couple summers

do you think i'd be able to ride this? would it be a good buy for me for $400 or do you think i should get something bigger? i'd prob just take it out about 10 times a year or so in los angeles

my friend, i am 6ft and 13 stone, i have surfed 6ft 6inch bords for 16 years, i learnt mainly on a 7ft 4 mini mal. in my opinion, the 7ft 6 board you are looking at would be ideal, i think any bigger and it would be to much board out there with you, hope this helps.

ive ridden a few yater boards at my local spot in mexico during smaller days, usually a 7'6 and a 8'1 shorter version of their speed shaped longboard it was a fun board for 1-2ft with lots of volume, easy paddling, but also a more progressive template, with a more pulled in nose than your average mini mal, which meant it turned alot easier and was more responsive. and when the occasional bigger set came through, it was still alot of fun and handeled nicely. almost baught one second hand from a friend, bit too dinged for my liking tho :-(
hope that helps.

thanks guys, I still think it might be a bit advanced/small for me, but i think i'll get it and just tough it out since i live right near the ocean.

in my area we get 2-3 ft waves sometimes 3-4 during winter i think. i'm in los angeles, the south bay (redondo beach/ long beach area)

mate i learnt on a 6'4. If u already have the basics i think the best way to learn is only a shorter board just make sure its thick as all hell and u keep ya head down and keep at it. unless ur not interested in shortboarding and want to stick with the longer boards.
