in many ways so is measuring in feet etc. one person may call the same day a different height depending on experience and bs factor.

oh and i forgot one...

far too big, run away and hide

The surf report guys know how to do it and so does RJD, that 1-2ft chart is never wrong :shock: .

lol i went to widemouth bay 2day nd they were pretty scary especially when you do 360s that go under water nd there are mega strong rip currents sory im babling dont you just hate it when theres ausum waves nd its mega busy i body board nd it really pisses me of how people jst stand around not even looking to see if they need to get out the way at first i jst anchored the brakes but then it got boring so i went over peoples heads lol sory babbling agen :blah: but then you get flipped cuz you crash into them nd its a bit risky with mega strong currents :ninja: lol x

Wrong. The scale here is extremely obscure. I've seen 2-3ft waves with HUGE faces. 5ft and up it looks like satan himself is charging you. (that's you, kewalos)

I stand on a cliff or someplace high, check out the people standing and give an estimate. I think i'm pretty good at working out the height once i've got past the breaking wave and the things are crashing over me also.

I mean, if they are riding a longboard and the waves are knee height, it's 2ft. If it's above their head, how much above their head, a little then it's got to be 6ft. If it's shoulder height and they are in the surfer stance then that's probably 4-5ft. If it's under their ankles but they are still somehow riding the wave then they are Jesus.
