I woke up, put on liquid bandaid, put on my wife's under-armor tights under my board shorts. They worked. I felt no pain.

The water and air have both been 80F this week. And we don't have many waves either, we just lucked out on a good ground swell this week, courtesy of Bermuda :D

i used to get this, i carry a big tub of vaseline in my surf bag and smear the affected areas before i paddle out -inner thighs mostly. also i started wearing a sleevless rash guard which gave me a hell of a rash behind my arms, so i do those too and voila no more red sore bits

also vaseline those darn nipples as they can rub against the deck.. ouch
i used to run long distances so have a big appreciation for vaseline... best skin product ever , takes care of everything

I gotta hand it to you all over there. Man I hate the wetsuites. Yep I wear them in the late fall-early spring but to have to wear them all year long :( . Gotta say you all have a good stoke about surfing to surf where you do.

Just how protected are you in Ireland in a super thick wetsuit? Still really cold? Feel tired when you get out of the water?

Thats how it is here in the winter when the water is 60-65F and I'm out in my 3mm.

colder in our summer than your winter bout 14C 57F... winter's about 51-52F 11C. wear a 5/3 all year round.. open the zip a little in the summer to give a cold flush every so often.
never get out of the water if there's waves until the arms give up!
but once hooded and gloved the winter's not much different to the summer except we are plagued by storm surf and howling onshores...

pretty sure i can can get in and out of a wetsuit in world record time in the winter lol.

Sliding them on the rough wax as I pop up, on the edge of my board shorts. Also on my inner thighs, from the board shorts + salt water.
