two questions.. please help

how hard is it to get sponsered? Id love to try for it but i live like an hour and a half away from the ocean so i cant surf everyday like others can.. has anyone gotten sponsered that doesnt live by the ocean?

Also, i wanna buy a shortbaord and sell my funboard, question: I like designs but is it worth it? How long can u keep a surfboard in perfect condition if ur really careful? or will pressure dings come from being in the water a lot? Because i want to get a nice board but not if i cant have it awhile cause im still at a young age so if i got something nice i want it forever.. is this possible, or should i buy a blank and get a better board later ? thanx -

I have a friend who is 15 (im 16) and he has been sponsored for quite a while..... but he is a reeeaalllyy good surfer. Just enter into alot of comps and try get sum good placeings and then eventually someone will approach you with a deal.

hmm id go with getting a plain board for now .... u want something that ur not gna b scared about bashing around a bit. once u get a few boards, then maybe u cud go 4 a pretty board and use it only occasionally. well thats wot i think
