 nice wave

Waves dont have to be huge to make paddle outs hard. I have paddled out in 15ft+ with out getting my hair wet but have spent probably longer than 15 minutes when i misstimed a paddle out in 4fters. Paddling out is all about timing and choosing the right locaction at the right moment.

the picture is of croyde,i was there on the friday and i have had far harder paddle outs and also a lot fewer wipeouts    i need a shorter board

saunton is a much longer paddle out with a lot less channels and as i said before if croyde was gettin to that size then saunton would have been a decent size and a far harder paddle out.

don't worry vandagos,i believe you

cut the lad (if you are a lad)some slack ehh

i know there are somebullshitters on here but i dont think you need to tar everyone with the same brush or try to make out they're a total novice.

good thread imo

cheers

it was when i just started surfing too oh my god it wrapped around my leg, i felt the sting in 8 different places so i start punching where it hurt trying to get the thing off me when i realize i'm punching my leg and the thing is on my hand so i scream like a little girl and paddle back to shore so fast. just got up and ran with my limp ass left leg with the board dragging in the dirt behind me.

my friends were telling me to pee on it but at the time i thought they were joking so i didnt do it, but i'm pretty sure you're supposed to do that.. idk..

You surf at the poles too huh

Vandragos - can't see how the Croyde pic is relevant, but hey.......

I'll make my point again - if you destroy yourself trying to get out back, then you're putting yourself at risk - it's as simple as that. You'll aslo be unable to get out of the way easily, so chances are you might piss off another surfer in the line up - and maybe that's why you didn't get the help you expected?? I wasn't there, so that's just a presumption..........

As I say - I'm not a mega paddler, so I just accept that for my own safety (and for the safety of others) there's some days where I have to stay inside or find a smaller break (Putts??)

As the saying goes, 'If you can't get out back, then you shouldn't be out back'..........

:D
