wahey congrats!!!
ive not quite pulled it off properly yet, sorta almost got thereonce or twice but not on any kind of decent sized wave. yeah crosstepping, err get a longskate, and a plank of 2by4, practice on the log on land, and then at night, prop your plank up between 2 piles of thick books and walk backwards and forwards and back and so on while watching tv. make it second nature.
when your in the sea, keep your knees bent, when you take a step, dont lean up and forwards, this is what your instinct will make you do, but you have to not do it or it wont work.
all stuff ive picked up from people or magazines or videos etc, im no expert. just practice.
congratumalations and good luck!

saunton today was pretty small most of the waves were about a ft if that i find its alot easyer practasing stuff on smaller days

good advise there on cross steping babyboarder will have to give it a try i have a balnce board i made for this but its sooo heavy its very hard to balance one one foot as theres to much wobble on it, maybe i should invest in a proper one
