Buying my 1st board today!

Postby Bub » Thu Feb 21, 2008 4:45 pm

I'm buying my 1st board tonight!
I stopped by last night to check it out and it is in decent shape. 1 small pressure indention about the size of a grape, but surface is smooth and not cracked.

Tim Bessell custom board....7'2'' Length x 21 3/4'' Width x 2 3/4'' thickness. Mini-mal shape (rounded nose with lots of volume in the nose like a long-board, not pointed like shortboard).

The guy is selling it with a roof tie downs/foam system and leash as well.

Came to terms with him at $225 U.S.

Good deal? Will it work for me? Anyone have any opinions on Bessell boards?

Sounds like a legit price if it's not too damaged (with what you posted, sounds good). I dont know about the boards either.. but size/shape considered.. sounds like a normal price to me (based from the prices on used boards that I see in the shops).

+1 to posting some pics when you get it. Interested to see also.

Yes I am stoked...now I'll be itching to get into the ocean with it, but my wetsuit equip. is only keeps me warm down to about 60 degrees F and current ocean temps are around 45. Unless I start upgrading my wesuit gear....I've got to wait until mid-May.

Here is a pic of it off the web. You can't see the 1 ding I was talking about, but I assure you its nothing...no water damage/no performance alteration. The nose got chopped off in the picture but its in perfect shape. Fins are very solid and no repair work was done there either.

bub,
I buy most everything used. Many autos and trucks; three surfboards; drum; and other stuff. The board looks nice in the photo, you will save some money, and, undoubtedly, enjoy that board.
