Postby niallhills » Mon Feb 11, 2008 9:28 pm

Ive never in my 5 years understood this, because ive never asked, but when is a wave breaking left and when is it breaking right? it may sound stupid, but ive never really wondered before now, so never asked :)

Basicaly which way you put the bottom turn in.

So if you turn left its a left - so the opposite usualy of what it is from the shore,

it's your left or right when you're facing the beach from the sea

if you're looking directly at the wave from the shore and you see it breaking towards the right then it's a left, and viseversa, so, if you're about to catch that same wave and you're facing the shore then you see it breaking to your left hand side.
better yet here's a couple of pictures
