New Custom board vs Second hand board

ok heres the thing: i have a bic 6'7 and have progressed on this board but i wnat to move on to a glassed shortboard. the thing i needhelp with is whether to get a custom or a second hand board. i know a custom will be better for me because it can cater for my needs but i simply dont have the cash! So i have bee looking in to second hand boards. should i save up longer for the custom or just go for a cheaper second hand board? any advice will be greatly appreciated.

ah get a secong hand custom but be really carefull when buying it chesck for dings/cracks pressure dents etc and never buy one if its got wax on as this can cover up damage!

also, if you are careful choosing the second hand board and you look atfter it, then you'll probably be able to sell it for pretty much what you paid.
