Surfing Waves

I can't seem to upload pictures to this site. Do I need to upload my photos to an image hosting site first? The FAQs on this site don't seem to be up-to-date. I never get an option to browse the photos on my hard drive and upload them. I can't find the my gallery that the FAQ talks about. It seems like I was able to do it in the past, but something has changed. Is the site able to host images or do I need a URL from an image hosting site in order to show photos?

You have to use the post reply button or the full editor button. Then go to the bottom and click upload attachment. Then click on chose file which will bring up a menu for your computer go find the picture then click add the file. Then wait it takes a while then it will bring up a labeled picture asking if you want to delete or place in line. First move your cursor to the place you want the file to go (above or below words) then click place in line. then post. You can also do it if you first post it at some photo sharing site on the inernet

You can also add a photo from the internet without downloading it.


1. Bring up the picture, right click and choose "copy image address" from the popup window.


2. Open a post with the full editor and paste the image address.


3. Highlight the URL and press the IMG TAB.

Test for the Boman method.

I used to do that, but for some reason I've lost the "Copy image address" option from my drop-down menu. Thanks for the info though.

What Boman described is called hot linking. It uses the bandwidth of another site to show a photo so people who run sites often frown on it. I am not sure about now but long ago it was considered inconsiderate to hot link unless the site creator gave permission and for some sites it was prohibited to hot link to other sites. I am not sure about Surfing Waves but apparently hot linking is okay. Another way to get photos posted is to post them on some photo hosting site like photobucket then copy the link and place it in the IMG tags.

Hmm, I thought I did that the last time. Anyway, thanks I'll try it again.

Here is the forum method if you have your pictures on your computer

Scroll the page up.

View up load attachment!
Click on that!

Select a source ie your photo library or take a photo.
Go to photo and click or select then select the add file button.

Next step select place in line option


You can then preview or select submit!
Easy
This is the Mac version but since the steps are on the SW website the steps should be very similar.
