is that the nearest surfing beach to Tokyo?

I wonder how many injuries there are

Been very crowded here lately.....more than a few collisions.....seems like it only gets more crowded in the lineups anymore.

It should be, the ride to Chiba is a little longer.

I hope there's not many places like that and also that it's not so crowded so often (I may end up there in a couple of weeks...).

I heard there were tea ceremony, flower arranging, and speed dating groups that meet regularly in the Kugenuma lineup.

Is it even possible to surf in such conditions? Can't even imagine paddling out without being hurt.

Kugenuma is in Shonan, Kanagawa prefecture which is south of Tokyo. 1 hour drive.

Sometimes surfing there is like trying to run sprints in a baby play pen, you can't really get up to speed to really hurt someone. I got yelled at once for trimming across the face once. The local guy said I prevented 5 people from getting on the wave.

By the way, this is what Tokyo looked like on the same day. Doesn't get any less crowded.

I don't know, Omotesando is looking a bit less crowded than normal...

Was it a crowd from the Meiji - Jingu spring festival?

Could be that some of them were going there. Was just the last Saturday of Golden Week. They stopped the "pedestrian mall" on Omotesando quite a few years back.

I really wanna travel to Japan, and this photo just made me more eager to go.
