There are a lot of questions you need to ask before you start shooting.
About cost , second hand, new? What brand you would prefer, and is it compatible with your computer?
Other questions , how far from the action are you going to be? what sort of data storage do you want in the camera?
What country are you in?

The reason for all these question is simple, they all effect price.

There are still digital cameras that can shoot video, there are video cameras that can shoot stills.
There are lens systems for cameras and that is where good money needs to be spent.

Having said all that there are some pretty good entry level cameras that do a fair job!
