Late drops and big barrels

Postby benjl » Tue Apr 07, 2015 3:53 am

I just heard through the family grapevine that apparently my cousin had a feature written on him recently in a surf magazine.
I did a bit of googling and found this clip- he's pretty good!

He's just about to head back to Ireland to be surf coach apparently at St Claire or something?>

That's Ireland, nice waves but BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

One of those waves is awesome well more than one but one goes on for a while and he got in and out of the tube numerous times then ended in a wipeout. Boy I sure miss getting tubed. His board probably hit some underwater thing seaweed or something.

I also found this video of him- he manages to drop in to a tube with a beer in his mouth and then proceed to open and drink it under the barrel!! haha.

I'll give him a message Jester and see where exactly he will be and who he will be working for etc. He's a nice guy, pretty much left nz when he was 18 and just floated round the planet the last 9 years surfing wherever he wanted and making ends meet. The magazine article (which he didn't even know was being written about him) describes him as a true 'soul surfer' and world class despite never having any ambition to compete or do it competitively.
Apparently he has now met an irish girl though and wants to go back over
