Waterproof camera

Just back from a great trip down the Green River and I used, for the most part, an Aquapac waterproof bag for my digital camera.
Frankly, it was difficult to use and many of the photos turned out poorly because of smudges on the outside of the bag's lens area as well as the difficulty of using the camera while in the Aquapac.
I am thinking of getting a good waterproof camera, not just a weather sealed camera, but am having trouble finding something that would take good photographs and be safe to take on another kayak trip. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Assuming you want a compact camera rather than an SLR in a housing, take a look at
http://www.pentaximaging.com/digital-camera/

I've got one of their older ones, and while they do take compact-level shots, they're pretty good and waterproof to a depth suitable for most stuff including snorkelling, but not proper diving.

Yeah, I've used a fuji, kodak, cannon and now using a nikon compact that I bought at costco every time. I've broken them all, but usually due not being nice to it, like I would put it down my wetsuit when not using it and then slamming my surfboard on a wipeout against it.

Thanks all reply!
I have bought D20 waterproof camera after check http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-powershot-d20/ and this guide: http://topbestwaterproofcamera.com/how-to-choose-the-best-waterproofunderwater-digital-cameras
The D20 offers a host of improvements over its predecessor, that include the use of a CMOS sensor (which Canon touts as 'high sensitivity'), plus a 5X zoom lens (versus 3X), larger/sharper LCD, built-in GPS, and 1080p video recording. While the D20 can be submerged as deep as its predecessor underwater (10 meters), it's slightly more shock resistant and able to take a slightly higher drop than before (1.5 versus 1.2 meters).

There are a lot of different waterproof cameras out now days. I like the Gopro Hero 3 camera for surf action shots. They take great close up surfing pictures and videos and you can attach them directly to your board, or almost anything. They also come with a water housing so you don't have to purchase one separately. You can also purchase a floaty back door just in case it comes off your board it will float with a bright orange flaoty. It is just one of many cameras available.
