I am curently making a survey about action cameras. What I would like to know is what you think is good/bad about them (and why), and what changes/ features could be cool to have. If you could also comment about limitations you have run into with action camera, it would be great!

The more detailed the discriptions are, the better, and please refer to specific camera models.

I use the GoPro Hero 3 Camera. It is great for getting action shots right out in the surf or wherever your action is taking place. You can purchase a surfboard mount to attach the camera right to your surfboard, or they sell many other attachments depending on what ever else you are into. I also have a floaty back door for mine just in case the camera was to get knocked off the board it will float and has a bright orange floaty to make it easy to find. This camera is fairly simple to use and is great for close up action in HD quality at an affordable price.

I like the ones that make me look coooool!

was given a Go pro black + all and sundry for my birthday. I'll just have to go out and shoot something

I'll expect your entire surf trip documented now.

Expect the odd photo, my wife gets violently seasick so she won't be in the boat in the keyhole shooting me!
As for selfies with the GoPro not an option, I refuse to cliche myself, I will try to have a hand held pole shot of while I surf from my point of view.
Maybe they have a shooting guy on the boat like Kandui provides ( for a fee) but main aim surf surf surf and recover to surf again.
charts 6ft at 14 seconds I don't think there is much net there so offline until further notice as of the 10th
