good surflocation april-august?

Hello all.

Me an a pal have plans to skip coldass sweden for a few months next year, and pick up surfing, but since we have no experience of this, i wonder if anyone can tell me a good place to go surfing from april to august?
Since we are low on cash, low cost accomodation and availible jobs will have to be considered.

ANY ideas on locations, jobs, websites, countries, continents (altough we are mainly in to asia/australia) will be highly appreciated.

How's the best way to start, by the way? rent a beginners board at first and then buy one? Start with a beginnerscamp or just trial and error?
