hi there, i'm planning a trip to biarritz in sept with a couple of friends and am looking for cheap camps/accommodation/schools etc. we're probably going for a week but all schools that i've found so far run from sun-sat and we will probably arrive mid-week (due to much cheaper ryanair flights from london!). one option i guess would be getting separate lessons (we also need equipment hire) and accommodation. can anyone recommend any good deals? we've been surfing a few times but are still pretty much beginners so would need lessons. thanks in advance!

Hello! Yeah i have been to Biarritz many times before and have just come back from my last surf trip down there. I am unsure on whether the surf schools will be open in September as the tourist season is normally from june until september. The only advice I can give you is try to stay south of Biarritz itself as its really over-priced and is full of stuck up rich people who are prepared to pay stupid amounts for surf lessons. Bidart and Saint Jean De Luz both have surf schools and there are loads of campsites around. There are two campsites that are better than the rest - Pavillon Royal which is in Ilbarritz and Camping Le Parc the site for camping Le parc is www.camping-leparc.com

Hope thats of some help!

Lagoondy Surf Camp in Biarritz is fun and cheaper than most places. They ussually do sun to Sat but we came mid week and it was fine. You will need to call them well ahead of time, they get very busy at this time. Everybody is very friendly and you meet lots of other people too. Enjoy
