Surfing Waves

I want to take my son to portugal or spain in the next month or so. he is a keen surfer, only 13 but manages the cornish waves of Sennan ok. I am more a body board merchant. Can anyone suggest some detinations that are not to far from the major airports and there are some decent hotels within reach of the beach.. any help appiciated
