surfing mainland Ecuador

Very good site about surfing. I just want to say that mainland Ecuador up & down the coast from Esmeraldas to Playas (General Villamil) in the Gulf of Guayaquil DOES get big waves but of course not as often as Hawaii or Galapagos, etc.
Here are the good info on where and whens:
December through Feb-March (North West swells-no wind, glassy early morning everyday) best areas/spots to surf are: Salinas, Chuyuipe, Montanita(Guayas), San Mateo, Canoa, Pedernales(Manabi), Mompiche, Pta Galeras (Esmeraldas) with new surf spots to discover day by day. All uncrowded areas specially from Canoa up north.

Arpil-May through November (South-Swest swells, trade winds from southwest-west 10-14kts range not so bad with ocasional early am light winds) best areas/spots to surf are: Playas(General Villamil), Salinas (shitbay), Cabo San lorenzo (Manabi).
Being PLayas (G Villamil) the best area with great weather and conditions throught out the year and with a 2 1/2 mile right point break the longest in Ecuador and one of the longest in South America.

To correct what is said about "La posada" at Playas in this website, that spot is just one line up on the 2 1/2 m,ile point break you can find at PLayas. BEst time for PLayas is April- June. Rest of months still gets good with lots of solid swells but little windier with side shore winds.
