Hey all,
I leave tomorrow to vist beautiful Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I kinda left it to the last minute to get my xxxxx together, and am now struggling to find the closest surf spots to where I'm staying... I'm not looking for the biggest, just something fun to shred... If anyone can help a fella out, it'd be appreciated!
Quinn
sorry...

I already know that I'm going to be renting a vehicle while there, and I am not opposed to driving long distances for surfing that is worthwhile!

Once again, spend some time on Google doing a search. Or check out
www.wannasurf.com, or search through the forum, I know there have been past discussions about the Dominican.

It might be hard to find some nice spots around Punta Cana. Normally it is pretty flat around there. On the other side (the North) the swell is pretty good, especially at Encuentro near Cabarete. But this is too far for a day trip from Punta Cana. When you are there, check with some locals or with your hotel if there are some spots close.
If you plan to go to the North coast maybe for several days or your next trip, you can always send me an e-mail (
info@hookedcabarete.com ). We live at Encuentro and also have a small hotel with apartments (for info check
http://www.hookedcabarete.com)
Have a good trip,
Chantal
