Surf in miami

Hi guys,
Just wondered what/ if there is any surf in Miami? My dads cousin lives out there and me and my good lady are lookng to book a honeymoon somewhere, and Miami was sugested as we have rels that live there. just wondering if ther s any surf there? no idea whrere they live?

I live in miami. It can get really good in the winter with the north swells. But most of the time it's just fun wind chop.

Visited Miami in May for the last two years and saw guys surfing both times, but rides lasted an average of 1-2 secs. I was impressed that guys were managing to have some fun on the wind chop, but it didnt make me wish i had my board.

I have lived in many parts of florida, including one year in South Beach. If you ask anyone from florida about the surf, they will defend it, but it really sucks! The few occasions a year that there are good waves, there is an insane crowd as well, unless it gets REALLY big. Like during hurricanes, then most of the crowd is scared out of the water. If you are going to miami, leave your board at home and enjoy the nightlife!
