Surfing Waves

Hey this christmas im going to San Juan, PR and i wanted to know a good spot to surf at. I am a beginner and would like to not get the xxxxx beaten out of me that bad. and i do have a very bad shark fear. so got any suggestions. im sure when i get into the water i'll forget about sharks.
