Postby Andy2282 » Tue Jun 15, 2004 2:01 pm

Hi, I need any advice people have on where I can find some decent suf in August, on a beach break, somewhere where I can leave my girlfriend with plenty to do, so no secluded beaches, and also not in UK or France, any ideas? cheers.

yeah the stormriders guide is a bible to any surfer. Make sure you book the flights soon though cos the prices will start to go crazy any day as the school holidays are on the way and its the most popular time of the year to go on holiday (obviously!)

Can you reccommend anywhere in Portugal, Spain or Fuetaventura. I've had a look in the Stormrider guide, which is good but doesnt tell you much about the resorts the beaches are on or near. Do yopu know any spots that are located on any of the main / lively resorts in these places ?
Thanks

Ok...at fuerte, you have the main place where all the resorts are and thats Correlejo and that is where you will fly into. It has an awesome night life and is also has great access to all the good surf spots. You don't need to stray far from the town in order to get surf but if you want amazing stuff, head up to the north track of the island. That too, isn't all that far from correlejo. There will definately be loads to do in the evening and the day for your girlfriend and you to have fun. Or even better, teach her to surf so you don't have to compromise between surfing and other stuff cos she will want to do the same thing as you!

OK, Choice between The Algarve and Fuerta, pretty similar I reckon. Will I be OK, as a beginner, on the point breaks that are quite common in fuerta or are these only for the experienced?
