Hi,
I am looking to buy a good shortboard in Porto or near Peniche. Is it hard to find good surf shops in Portugal? What are surfboard prices like? Also can anyone suggest a cheap place to stay in Peniche. Thanks for any info.

mate sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on here for a while... Not much help as I live in the North but a couple of sites that might give you an idea of new boards in PT:
http://www.semente.pt/
http://www.lufi.online.pt/
http://www.penichesurfshop.com/
http://www.phynixsurfboards.web.pt/
http://www.polensurf.com/
http://perso.orange.fr/swopsurfboard/boards.htm
http://www.koalasurfboards.com/
http://www.sposurf.com/
http://sal-surfboards.tripod.com/
http://www.daan-surfboards.com/
http://www.paulojacintosurfboards.com/
There are others about, these are just the bigger names that I know of... Never surfed a PT board but they do seem ok from a first glance. I do like Paulo Jacinto's keel fin and quad fish and would be my pick if thats your sort of thing... In terms of longboards at thisstage I think that I would go with lufi and for the normal short board ???? maybe semente but examples that I have seen are aimed more at the bigger wave heavy glassed type guns to semi guns.
Hope this doesn't find you to late and is of some help; hope you have fun![/list]
