Surfing Waves

Hi all, I'm off down to Lacanau next June but have to take the family this time! I've got a roof box to put on the car that will be full! Somehow i've got to get an 8ft mini mal on there as well. Anyone got any ideas? Anyone ever tried attaching a board to the underside of a roof rack?
