Christmas, 2007; my 40th Bday surf trip

Postby lobsterninja » Sat Oct 28, 2006 6:55 pm

Seems a lot of this type question get asked, so I appreciate any help. Want to go anywhere, I mean anywhere for my big 4 0. Taking the wife, and some friends may come also. Looking for warm water, NO CROWDS, and 5 foot or so rights. We are high-intermediate level. I'd like a surf camp, but not necessary. Costa, uh, no thanka.
Finances are good, so we can spend some extra cash and time to get to where we are going. Leaving from Florida. Is there anywhere not crowded in the Mentawi Is? Email me, or post here with any/all suggestions. Now, get out there and surf.

Most of the Mentawaiis are uncrowded. Unless you hit well known spots like Lance's and Kandui.

Maybe you should get on a boat and do a surf charter.
Another thing is the mentawaiis won't be very good in december. It will only be like 4ft ish. Some companies don't even sail in that season.

Good luck.

PS. I heard some company like free tours...of freedom or something re pretty good.

Go to Panama or Nicaragua, your guaranteed to get warm waves. If you dont mind a 3/2 suit you could go to Peru and score massive rights. Mentawi is flat in December, save your money. If you have the cash do a search for surf charters, you can charter a boat somewhere in the S. Pacific and go wild. Good luck old man!!
