Whatup, I'm from the US and I'm moving to Adelaide. I'm trying to find some surfing buddies, guy or girl its all good, just someone to show me the spots and chill out with. I also will have no ride, so if anyone with a car needs someone to rip with let me know. Also what's up with the sharks down there, I'm still in the US so i haven;t asked around but are there certain places to avoid? booyakasha

Adelaide's a pretty laid back place... more like a big country town than anything.

On the downside there isn't a lot of surf here, since the city is on the shores of a blocked gulf we need a strong SW or, preferably, WSW groundswell to get clean surf.

Sharks are, well, sharks. I understand it's no worse than NorCal and not as bad as South Africa :) We average soemthing like one fatal Great White attack a year and that's it.

I've surfed within a couple hundred meters of a Great White near my homebreak and didn't know for sure until the next day. The old spidey senses went crazy so I got out :D

Know what are you are moving to? What kind of stick do you ride?

TJ,

It's always gonna be average surf here :D Unless you want to take a trip to Eyre Peninsula (then you better be as good as you say). I've got a few AS friends, including a bloke here who runs a surf school/clinic and is an AIS certified surf coach.

hehe! Yeah it does. NP mate!

If you get a chance have a chat to Mark Orr (Surf Culture Australia). He's usually the guy with the surf schools in/with the Surf Culture bus around Moana or Middleton. Marks a good bloke and great surfer. He's one of the key guys organising SA events.

Cheers!
