Surfing Waves

Any suggestions regarding to safty precaution I should take and even more important, where can I find the best waves during this time of year.

I surfed before. Started in Maui, but still considered as a beginner.
Never been wiped out badly before, so I still do not knoe how bad it could be.head. :wink:

Yes Maui is nice..and has some epic waves! Umm, November will be pretty small surf in Sri Lanka. 2-3ft

Safety precautions: As long as yoru on the south end of the Island and no where near the Tigers/Government border crossing you should be Ok. Dengue fever is a one to watch out for, really does suck..so bring mosquito reppelent!

Thanks for the information. Yes, Maui is great.

I think we will stay in Hikkaduwa area and hope for the best. I know it is not the best season, but the waves here are much worst.

Israel is pretty big, but somehow this name rings a bell. Who is Peter Schafran?

Ha ha.........yeah, that's like asking 'Do you know John Smith from London?'

OK.........Peter surfs and I met him and his familly about 12 years ago travelling around Spain.

I went over to Israel to stay with the familly, and they took me windsurfing somewhere near Netanya.

The last I heard Peter was surfing in Costa Rica, but that was a few years ago................I lost touch with them and just thought that cos Israel is so small, there might be a chance you might know him and I could get in touch again
