how easy is it to travel with a 7 8"

Postby jennie » Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:52 pm

im going to be off to oz soon to do some serious surfing, just wondering if its worth trying to take my board (7 8" minimal) all the way there or if its a better idea to buy something out there....

im looking to go shorter so how much would say a second hand 6 10" cost out in oz? also i know that some airlines charge extra for a board but do they charge on length ie is it cheaper to take something smaller?

any advice on this would be great

Most of the cheap airlines chage extra but the likes of BA there is no extra charge.
Phone ahead if your worried.

As for packing remove all fins and stick in boardbag wraped in towels bubblewrap to protect the rails and nose etc..

you could buy a 2nd hand mal for $300 bucks , and get a 2nd hand short board for the same .....with 2.4 auss to the pound they end up being quite cheap for you brits , you might even want to get yourself something special over here !!
