Surf trip to oz

Im planning to go to oz sometime this year by myself in the hope of buying a car and travelling up the east coast getting some serious surfing in.

Just wondering how easy is it to meet other like minded people out there who would be willing to do the same and share the cost?

Anyone done this kind of thing before?

Also what are the waves like from March to September time?

It is really easy to find like minded people. Just head to the nearest backpackers.
Waves are good at this time of year. All the winter swells!

Hey Jennie Im on my Ozi trip right now and I can tell ya its magic

It's an awesome country and an Burleigh, about 150km(?) south of Brisbane if expirienced the best waves in my short surfing carrer
(We just had the RipCurl Surf Pros here, so the Surf is not to bad )

Im currently in beautiful Sydney and the Surf over here ist realy good aswell even though I should consider buying a wetsuit soon... get's cold...

You meet heaps of cool people everywhere! So go for the adventure, and enjoy your self!
