Surfing in Khao Lak?

Hey!

I am in phuket, thailand right now and I wanted to get some more info on khao Lak surfing.

I went there for a day in September, but i didnt find any spots.

Also i couldnt help but notice some HUGE waves about 1.5-2KMs out of the beach. Does anyone know about this?
