Making a trip in July to Puerto Vallarta Mexico and was wondering if anyone had been there and if the surf is worth bringing a board.

Doesn't seem many people have much info on mexio from this forum but here's a start -
https://surfing-waves.com/atlas/north_america/central_america/mexico.html
You might want to look up on
http://www.wannasurf.com for gerneral spots.?

PapaW - Thanks for the info!!! I went from not taking a board, to ordering a bag for the trip last night. The sight was very helpful and I look forward to using it more down the road.
I was able to find a few spots close by that should be good for me getting back on some real surf. Lake/wake surfing is becoming a big craze in the area (Missouri AKA: Misery), but just not the same if you have ever ridden a real wave.

wakesurfer -
I was just in that area of mexico 2 weeks ago. There was consistent waist high surf at sayulita the entire time I was there - about 5 days. It is very easy to rent a board there ($20/day) and there is a pretty good selection available through the variety of surf shops/schools. I'm glad I didn't bring my own board. I didn't get a chance to make it to punta de mita.
